Vladivar is the last of the Elder Gods born to Tanarsa and Marnarka. Tanarsa lavished her attentions upon Vladivar, determined to make him the most beautiful God ever to exist. She spoiled him outrageously and always called him her beautiful one. She made up grand titles for him and insisted that all the other Gods call him by his full title and name, as befitted the last son of Marnarka.

His name implies the ‘shinning one’, and alludes to the azure brightness of the sky, where he dwells as the semblance of the most beautiful of birds.  He is Par excellence the supreme god of the Adram, who worship him all over the world, but mostly in his sacred temple high on Mt Albanus called ‘Capitolinus’.

Vladivar was always vain, and it showed in all he did and said, he always took the form of the most beautiful things he could find before parading himself to the other gods who were astounded by his beauty. This he loved, but eventually he began to run out of new shapes to become. So he changed his form to that of the most beautiful of elves and came among them to set them a challenge.

The challenge was to find something, which was as beautiful as him, in return he would give the successful Elf the secret of everlasting youth. Those who failed would be struck down by lightning for insult to Vladivar with unworthy gifts.

Despite the terrible consequences many of the elves tried and were slain, and Vladivar amassed a wondrous amount of beautiful jewels and artefacts. This hoard included the Necklace of Harmonia, made of Mithril and diamond by the Great Dwarven artificers, which was lost long ago in the great dwarf/Orc wars. Caduccos, the rod of leadership; a beautiful, ebony embedded rod inlaid with obsidian, held by the Drow kings of old, said to bestow great powers of leadership. And Gungir the great spear of strength wielded by Ovidd the giant that was rumoured to be sentient and made the wielder slay dragons with its awesome powers.

Vladivar rejected them all…

At this time there was a seer of the Adram peoples who was both fair and intelligent and he brought to Vladivar a gold rimmed mirror. Vladivar gazed at his reflection in awe, granting the Adram, Kutulan, the secrets of eternal youth and insisting Kutulan tell more of his intelligent peoples.

The God listened to Kutulan as he related the tale of his folk, and he discovered that the Adram were the most fair of all the races to walk on Eä, even more fair than the elves because of their long peacock like plumes.  Vladivar sat waiting for Kutulan to finish his tale before saying unto him ‘ If you build for me here a temple which all will envy I will look after your entire race and grant unto you the titles and prestige that you all rightly deserve. You shall stand above all others.’

Kutulan agreed and within fifteen years a temple was built on that place Mount Albunus and Kutulan named it Capitolinus – the capital of all temples.’

SYMBOL

That of a beautiful bird in flight.

WORSHIP

The priests of Vladivar are the vainest of all peoples. Vladivar is usually worshiped by the rich, for the status involved, and is revered by the Adram as their patron deity. The most powerful of his priests have huge titles, the longer the title the higher your position in the order. Non of course longer that those above them.

His priests wear flamboyant clothing and nothing but the best quality will do for them.

Worship itself is a very self centred affair, each priest attempting to offer the biggest gift to their deity without affecting their own wealth while all the time hoping for Vladivar’s blessing of social gain and personal recognition.

TEMPLES

Vladivar’s temples are always brimming with riches and treasures and symbols of status. This may seem a fat offering for bandits but they are always situated within prosperous towns and guarded by the best guards the autocracy’s money can buy.

HOLY DAYS

None.

FRIENDS AND ENEMIES

All other cults are looked down upon, especially Demi human gods whom are considered somewhat barbaric.

All members must have a title, lots of money (at least Fortune or the money option taken as a background choice), or wield lots of political power.
