WILL POWER RULES

Willpower Rules

The more powerful a character becomes the more resilient in mind and the less effected by the mind numbing effects of magic, fear and terror. This means that as long as he remains conscious and has his full wits about him, his willpower will protect him.

Willpower can be worked out in three ways and it’s to the player’s benefit to choose the most effective.

The higher the willpower value the better.

1st Method – Calculate by Body Development.

Take players Blood Points and divide them by 20, rounding down, then minus 1.

Thus, a PC with a BP of 63 would have a willpower of

  63

  20 - 1 = a willpower of 2

2nd Method – Calculate by Ranked Skill

Take players skill rank and divide it by 2, rounding down, then minus 1.

Thus, a PC who is a level 8 mage would have a willpower of

  8

  2 - 1 = a willpower of 3

3rd Method – Calculate by Adventures

Take players number of adventures and divide it by 2, rounding down, then minus 1.

Thus, a PC who has done 8 adventures would have a willpower of

  8

  2 - 1 = a willpower of 3

Willpower and Torture

It is the victim that chooses how to calculate his WP.

If the victim is able to resist the torture attempt then they have died on the torturer (unless the torturer stops short).

The time taken to interrogate a victim is:

Victims Will Power – (Torture Rank) = Time in Days

         2

NB: Negative values denote partial days (i.e. each minus is worth less 1 hour from 24).

Does Willpower always work?

Yes, unless the PC actually decides that they want the effect to occur. It should be noted that the player must make the decision before the spell is cast and must also know that the spell is about to be cast.
